New MD 2025

Southrepps Chorale is a non-auditioned SATB choir in Southrepps, located midway between North Walsham and Cromer, in North Norfolk.

The choir is currently seeking an enthusiastic new MD with effect from 1st January 2025. This is expected to be a remunerated position.

The successful candidate will be someone who:

• is an experienced choral conductor
• has a clear understanding of vocal technique, including with regard to the more mature voice
• has good communication skills and a sense of humour
• has an enthusiasm for and a knowledge of music from multi genres
• appreciates that the choir is still a village-based community project that seeks to give an expressive and collegial experience to all of its members regardless of their individual music skill level
• is able to challenge the choir with new ideas and repertoire and to develop the less experienced whilst still engaging the more accomplished
• ideally has contacts with professional singers and instrumentalists
